Mary Lee Robertson is a full time artist who started painting seriously in various media 15 years ago when she moved from Denver, Colorado to Riverside, Connecticut. Having retired as a principal in her husband's business, and with her four children gone most of the time, she now has more time to devote to her art.

Having studied under Pam Williams and Joan Heston, Mary Lee is currently taking courses at Silvermine Art School with David Dunlop.

After living and working four years in South Africa and ten years in Colorado she became fascinated with the vistas and beautiful countryside in those areas. She has also spent considerable time on the Eastern seaboard, and loves the water and the wildlife.

Her inspiration comes from the landscape and forms in nature. ''The beauty and ever changing views are always a challenge, and I shall never tire of trying to record the pleasure I get from them,'' Robertson explains.

Mary Lee paints in both oil and watercolor, and is investigating the world of printmaking, both at the Graphic Arts Center in Norwalk, and at the Silvermine School of Art.

She has exhibited in several galleries located in Bridgehampton, New York, and Rowayton, Darien and Greenwich, Connecticut.

She has won several prizes; among these was the Alice T. Queenan Award in a Greenwich Art Society juried show.
